Peter Mac Parkville Shed
The Melbourne Men’s Shed at Parkville like our Federation Square Shed is open to all-comers; yet is was created out of a partnership with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to offer Peter Mac patients, carers and their families an opportunity to meet others undergoing, or caring for someone receiving medical treatment. It is the first shed in a Victorian hospital precinct.
Membership of the shed has now been extended to include patients and careers from the other major hospitals in the Parkville precinct, together with the residents of the Atira apartments. The shed offers a safe and supportive environment to connect with others undergoing similar experiences, contribute to the community and ultimately maintain more positive health and well-being during a time when they may be at high risk of feeling isolated.
